Youth Olympic Games 2010 Torch

Behold! Here are some images showing the torches for the Youth Olympic Games! Aren't their designs wonderful?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Here is a first look at the awesome possum Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games Torch!
Here is a similar design for the Portable Cauldron which will be housing the Olympic Flame at each Celebration City for the Journey of the Youth Olympic Flame.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

In August 2010, 2,400 Singaporeans will get the chance to be a part of the nation’s history as the Youth Olympic flame arrives in Singapore for the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games journey of the Youth Olympic flame. As the Youth Olympic flame journeys around Singapore in a 6-day torch relay, Singaporeans will be participating as torch bearers or cheering on their fellow community torch bearers in the first-ever Olympic Games torch relay in Singapore, and our school is sending 2 representatives and they are Akmal Addin and Kai Lin!
Torch bearers are the ambassadors of the Olympic Flame – expressing the spirit of Olympism and inspiring others to embrace this ideal. A torch bearer for the flame must embrace, embody and express the Olympic values of Excellence, Friendship and Respect.
Let's support the 2 representatives from our school!

Hi everyone! I bet all of you must be admiring this sculpture, made by Fernando Botero! This sculpture is called "The Fat Pigeon".
Isn't it magnificant? Fernando Botero Angulo (April 19,1932) was born in Medellin, Antioquia, Colombia, South America, where the Catholic Church adopted the Baroque style. He is a Colombian figurative artist, self-titled "the most Colombian of Colombian artists" early on, coming to prominence when he won the first prize at the Salón de Artistas Colombianos in 1958 and as you all know, Colombia is our partnering country. This sculpture is one of the few placed in Singapore but he has lots more of his sculptures all around the world.
Don't you agree with me that Fernando Botero Angulo is indeed a great artist? :D

This picture has an overhead view of a part of Medellin.They have a BIG stadium and a track and field!There are only a handful of stadiums in Singapore.Wahh,what a luxury they have!

This is an eagle's eye's view of what seems to be a sports complex.I can see that they have massive swimming pools!Hehheh,maybe they have a smaller pool for the younger children!

Here you can see the streets of Medellin.The statues look really interesting!It looks like it's abstract art though.The artist must have been really proud to have his artwork placed in the streets for people to admire!

WoaH!This is a panoramic view showing the centre of MEDELLIN!IT looks like they have some really tall high rise buildings!You can also see that there are some moutains around the Area!

This train looks very similar to the MRTs in Singapore!Looks like we share the same piece of technology!However look at the ceiling!It looks very different as our MRTs are underground!Would you like to see the structures in Medellin?I would definitely be glad to!
